Trip to Te Tehi art gallery.

Today Tuesday 2nd of December our class had a visit to Te Tuhi art gallery in Pakuranga. But before we hopped on the bus to get there we had to sort out who is going and who’s not. I reckon it was a hard job for my teacher because she was calling students parents. They wanted all the year 8 and 7’s to go because it’s the last outing for the year. After all the callings my teacher made we finally got on the bus. Took us 10 to 15 minutes to get there. As soon as we got there everyone was excited to go inside. We got inside and saw a lady and man. They were the peoples taking us around the Te Tuhi gallery and had activities for us. Their names were Louisa and Jeremy. They were very kind and wonderful tutors while we were there. Then we carried on with what we were suppose to do.

Why is it important to be on time?

Why is it important to be on time?

It’s really important to be on time, especially if you were expected to be somewhere at a certain time. Why do you think coming to school or church on time is really important?

At our church, going to church on time is really important because people don’t like to miss Sunday school or miss out any important notices. Even if people attend church late they also miss out on welcoming the Lord Saviour into their hearts and worshipping him. Those are the most important parts of going to church.

Attending school on time is the most important thing. If you are late you miss out on important notices, the roll and the karakia to start off your day. You don’t only miss out on those stuff, you also miss out on explanation of your school work to start off with or for the rest of the day.

If you’re a person who attends stuff late. You will end up in school detention or very close to losing your job. Teachers or bosses will always want a person who is punctual.

Why is it important to have class/school rules?

Planning:
-know where all the boundaries are
-disrespect
-breaking rules
-bullying
-safety
-swearing
-thefts
-manners
-discipline

Why do you think rules are important in schools and classes? Well let’s find out.

Having no rules in classes can be a very hard class to learn in. It’s because students in your class would be very disrespectful and won’t get a good education. A class with rules is very different to a class without rules. If your class has rules it’s going to be a very respectful class and they will always show their teacher the best they can be. Students would be trying everything their teachers say to do.

A class without rules would be a very bad class because they would have no respect for others in their class. If we had no rules, our class would be full of thefts, swearing, fighting and disrespectful people. So it’s best for all classes to have rules because everyone can stay safe and it would be a good place to be in.

A class with rules will be a very good class that shows respect for one another. Our class would be a very good and hard working class. Every class has got to have rules at each and every school.

If our school didn’t have rules it would be a school full of violence and our school property would be ruined. Everyone would just go crazy and do whatever they want instead of learning.

Immersion Assembly

At Point England School we had an Immersion Assembly on the first day of term. Full of excitement the classes walked to the hall all together. Team 5 was waiting for the other classes to sit down in the hall.

It was team one’s turn up the stage. Their item was about going to the beach and learning what’s at the beach to inspire their art work. One day this term their going down to the river to look for some ideas for their art.

Next it was team two’s turn for their item. Their item was about primary/secondary colours. They showed a little short video of what the colours are and when they mix it together what colour it’s going to turn out. After their little video they gave us simple questions from that video.

After that it was team three’s item. Their item was about artist and who invented art stuff. In their area they are learning more about famous artist back in the days. It was really interesting because they showed who their artist was and what they painted that was really famous. The artist was Da Vinci, Andy Warhol and Splash. Walking off the stage with heaps of cheering and clapping from the students watching.

Team 4 teachers item was similar to team 3’s. But their item was a bit more fun and had a bit of laughter. In the area they’re at they will be learning about artists back in the old days. It was finally the last team and that was team 5. Save the best for last. They didn’t perform anything but have painted and created a painting. Painted and painted while the song was playing, no one knew what it was until they turned it around. When they finished they turn it the other way and guess what it was? It was a painting of Mr Burt, Mr Jacobson and Mrs Jarman.

After all the teams items, Mrs Tele’a came up to show her Malu. For those who don’t know what that is it’s a Samoan Traditional Tattoo for a lady. She showed the main parts of it and also explain why it is important to us Samoan people. You could only get it when you’re a lady back in the days but now you can get it at any age. Only ladies can get it not mans.

Weekend Recount.

This weekend was a very important and exciting weekend. As school finished on Friday, very happy to go over to my aunt's house for a special event that happened on Sunday. Practicing very hard getting all our dance move right and same timing, while we try our uniform on one by one. The event was International Day.

When we finished our we were talking about trying our best in every move we do because every can see every move of the dance. Having dinner late at night was a very nice thing to do with all my family together having fun and laughing, that hasn’t happened in a while.

Woke up the next morning raining hard as it was the night before. Went to check my aunt's room to see if she was there but she lefted saying she would be back in the evening and wait for everyone to come so yous can practice without me. Also I had to babysit my little cousins because their older brother went out fishing with his dad around 9:30.

Another day of hard working and having fun together. It was finally Sunday and everyone gathering together doing a prayer before we leave to go out Henderson.

Cross Country .

Cross Country. 11/09/2014

I had butterflies and was very nervous because we had cross country.

Thursday 11th September was the date that we had our school cross country. At 12:00pm we had our lunch time because our cross country started at 1:00pm. As soon as we all got the courts, we got ready for the first race to start. The year 1 boys starting first. Before they lined up to race, we had our house captains do their team chants, and Mr Burt did a prayer. Mr Burt prayed to bless and protect us as we’re running, and prayed that we have no accidents while our event is happening.

“BANG!” Mr Burt started the first year 1 boys race. All the little boys started running, while everyone else was cheering and screaming. When the year 1 boys nearly finished their race the year 1 girls started. Lining up to start their race all the year 7 and 8 girls and boys got up to move to a place where we could see. This is because all the supporters and parents were standing in our way. When we got to the bottom field, we saw all the little kids running past with a big smile on their faces.

As we were sitting we were all making noise and cheering for our house colours as they ran past us. It was finally the year 7 boys turn to get started with their race. When they were going to the starting line we all had butterflies and were getting nervous because we knew it was nearly our turn. When the year 7 boys finished their first lap it was the year 5 girls turn to race, while the year 7 girls lined up all the year 8 boys were nervous.

“Year 8 girls please line up in one line, quickly. HURRY UP!” Mrs Nua said with a grumpy voice, while everyone was looking for their running partner. Standing at the starting line, watching some of the senior boys running past us, waiting for our time to run.  It was finally the year 8 girls time to run and it was also the last race of the day.

When our race started most of the girls were screaming and trying their best but when we got out of the gate most of them started walking. Running with my close friend Asena V then we stopped by Mele because she felt very sick. When we stopped and asked for help, Mele told us to run so I did but Asena decided to stay with her until she had one of our teachers come get her. Huffing and puffing while I was running nearly on my second lap I could see Asena on the other side of the field. I was thinking of going back to run with her but it was too far away so I kept running until I saw Mr Barks, Mr Somerville and Mrs Va’afusuaga.

On my second lap it was a really good lap because it felt short and I had some laughters while running. It felt weird because when I was laughing no one was there but myself.

That was how our school cross country day went. I really enjoyed running and having to try my best at all time when fitness. After our run I felt tired and exhausted but we were just glad it was over because we run everyday for training.

Should We Ban Plastic Bags ?

To: Prime Minister John Key

I am writing this letter because plastic bags should be banned in New Zealand. The reason why we want to ban it from our country is because it’s killing our sea lives and killing our birds. Also some people from other countries think our country is messy because when they drive around New Zealand, it has plastic bags on the side of the road.

Banning plastic bags is probably a good thing to do. Also we can have more sea animals and birds in our beautiful country. People always throw their plastic bags away after their shopping and it flies away to our ocean. That’s how other fishes die because they think that plastic bags is food and they eat it then they die. So please this might be a good thing to do.

IF we ban plastic bags from New Zealand our environment would be more cleaner and tidier. It will also make our sea lives and birds more healthier. We can bring our own paper bags to put our shopping in or load it in the car yourself. When our country is tidy more people from overseas would love to come and visit New Zealand. We are killing our mother nature, please stop the nonsense and use recycle paper bags instead of plastic bags.

That is why I think we should ban plastic bags in New Zealand. If you agree with this situation it would be good, because we can keep our environment a green tidy place people always think of when they come to Aotearoa.

Why Kids Should Exercise ?

This writing is base on why kids should exercise everyday. I believe kids should exercise everyday. It can also help kids to achieve their fitness goals. Well you’ll going to find out and see what you think about this. The question is Why should kids exercise everyday ??

I reckon making kids exercise everyday is good because it’s like pushing them to reach their goal for their future. Exercise is good for your body but you don’t have to do it everyday. There are unfit and fit people that runs but most importantly for those overweight people it is good for them because it can make them slimmer and get them to the size they really want to be. Everyones not perfect but I mostly know heaps of people that are big, their dream is to be skinny.

Exercising is one of the main thing that kids love to do. So maybe thats why kids like to exercise daily. When kids get forced to exercise it not a good thing teachers / parents should do because kids can do what they want or their not really into running or something cause it’s not their thing. But exercise is good because it helps you to be fitter, you don’t have to do exercise everyday at school. If we don’t exercise at school we can do it at home after school but use our school hours to learn something new.

Mostly overweight people doesn’t like doing exercise because they think it’s embarrassing running and coming last or something. They can also worry about other people mocking them and make them feel bad about themselves.

Explanation Writing .

Intro:
Why is taking care of your mind and body is so important? Well lets find out.

Taking care of your mind and body is so important because your mind is what tells every part of your body what to do and sends messages around your body of how to keep it healthy. The body is really important to take care of because it’s what makes you beautiful and what God has created for you to take good care of. If your mind and body is not taken care of you will be sick or died because your body and mind is really important.

To take good care of your body is you have to eat the right food and also drink the right amount of water each day. When you feel really sick you always have to tell an adult or go see the doctors straight away. Always put the right food into your body and do not take pills from other people because you don’t know what’s in it. If you do it can make you really sick.

Most important thing to keep your mind and body healthy is to not put drugs and alcohol into your body because it can affect your brain, but the right age to put a little of those stuff into your body is probably 25 years old. If you take those stuff you will always have to check what’s in it. 15 years old is the common age that always starts to put alcohol and drugs into your body and they died around the age of 25 years old.

Most people that decides to put alcohol and drugs into their body at a young age can died at a young age too. Inside your body is really important to keep clean at all times and it can make the minds work easier to send messages around the body. Never ever put alcohol and drugs into your body until your brain is fully developed and that age is 25 years.

Life Education Caravan.

Life Education Caravan !

This term for 4 weeks we went to the life education caravan for some lessons about of how to succeed in life and be careful of what you put into your body. We learn’t about alcohol and drugs.

The first thing we learn in the caravan was what kind of alcohol or drugs are good for your body and what age is good to start those stuff. We met some people who did drugs and alcohol at a young age now they are dead or they have no more chances to apply for a job and achieve what they wanted to be when they were young. Those people are James, Rita, Jason, Amy, Zeb, and Malcolm.

I really learn’t alot from their stories about how they started doing it, who made them do it, how it felt and who did it affected. What I learn’t from the Life Ed Caravan is not to put alcohol or drugs into your body until you have fully developed. The good age to do it is when your over the age of 35 because that is when you're fully developed.

That was a really good experiment for me because I never knew that much about alcohol and drugs. Drugs can be really bad for your body and also can kill you at a very young age. Alcohol is not good at all because they add stuff that they don’t know that could kill you or put you in a very bad situation.

That is all I learn't from the Life Education Caravan this year. I really had alot of fun knowing more about alcohol and drugs.

Immersion Assembly.

GAME ON !!

This morning at school assembly we had an Immersion of what we are going to learn about this term. The topic this term is “ Game On ! “.

First team up was Team 1. Their movie was about trying your best in everything you do and also achieve your goals this term and never give up and always keep your head up high. Everyone really enjoyed their movie because it was funny and entertaining. Second of all was Team 2. Their movie was very similar to Team 1’s movie but a bit more understandable. Team 2’s movie was about never giving up on what you're doing and representing your country.

It was finally Team 3’s movie and act. Their act was about ballerina dance and how to keep going and take your place in the world. Next was Team 4. Their movie was about all the events in commonwealth games and they added a new game called Mashed Potato Race. The movie was really funny and amazing. Last of all it was Team 5. Their video was about some of the teachers going overseas to experience how does it feel to live in another country and asking people what are some ideas for Pt England School to try their very best and never give up. Miss Clarke had one lady in the city she went to. The lady said “Strive to be great, always try your best and never bully anyone” and we really enjoyed watching their incredible movie.

As all the Teams finished their item and movies everyone clapped and cheered. When the Immersion Assembly finished all the classes went back to class and carrying on with some work while some people were packing the stuff away.

My Weekend :)

My weekends was so amazing and fantastic. It was because I went to the library and met all these different people and making new friends and also getting their numbers to know them better. Texting them is so awkward sometimes haha. I spent all my weekend with my cousins and friends. What we did during the weekends was playing games outside, at the beach and the backyard. The games we played was tag, cricket, volleyball, rugby, and amazing race around Otara. But the main thing was when we did amazing race around Otara was fun. We did our amazing race during 8-9pm and there were too many drunk people around. It was time to go in the club because we had our second clue in there, the only people that were allow in there were me and my siblings because my dad works there and my uncle is the boss at the nightclub.

When I went in the nightclub it was so scary because there were heap of fights and people throwing beers around the place but my dad was the one that protected me the whole way until I found the next clue. The next clue was how many take away shops can you find around Otara and sing your favourite song in front of a big crowd and record or video it. It was so funny because in our team we had all the flat people. But no one care because “IT WAS OTARA HA-HA”. That day was so shocking because I saw some Asian people drinking and they were so drunk. I couldn’t believe my eyes.

After all our clues were done and dusted we all ran to the bus stop and waited for a bus to arrive. When our team got to the bus stop the our team were already there before and the bus just got there. It was so cool in the bus cause I was talking to this Korean lady and she was so kind. The bus was full and noisy. When the bus stopped people were pushing eachother to get out of the bus and run to the pastors house. The first team there was our team. After all the running and stuff we had a big feed at the pastors house. We had chips, pizza, drinks, lollies, crackers and sandwich. It was so yum.

That was the end of my weekend. The next day it was Sunday and I went church but when I got there it was nearly finished.

My Year In School :)

This year has being a very amazing year in school. I really like my class that I'm in because I always wanted to be in this class cause I heard Mrs Lagitupu was a really cool and kind teacher. First day at school was really cool because I had heaps of class mates from last year and I get to meet new faces at the time.

Having all the annoying boys in my class is really disturbing because they laugh and talk too much. The main thing I don't like about them is they disrespect one of my favourite teacher and they speck over her while she's talking.

I sometimes do that to Mrs Lagitupu but now I know how I wanted to be treated and I don't want to be treated how I treat Mrs Lagitupu. As I'm trying my best to be a good girl and doing my best till the end of the year not being a naughty girl that I'm not or going home late at night like what I use to do because I actually thought going home late was a good thing to do until I realized how my parents were very worried about me.

This year I really need to work on my writing and reading. Also learn how to treat people the way  want to be treated. What I learn't this year in Mrs Lagitupu's class is being yourself, respect one another, writing, reading and try your best in everything you do. What I have really enjoyed this year is doing Kiwi Sports, class games and playing sports for the school. I enjoyed those things because I always have a smile on my face and laughing and also work with some friends, it's really fun and enjoyable things to do.

That is how my year has being going so far. Hope your year in school is fun like mine and learning more new things. I really hope you had fun reading my story and also have a smile on your face. :)

Writing About Korea :")

Annyeong Haseyo,

That is Hello in Korean, I am going to be writing about Korea because I am a very big fan of Korean Drama Movies, K-Pop and I also want to know more about Korea before I go there to visit in the holidays with my older sisters that are also fans of Korean stuff. My sisters and I are saving up money to help our dad to pay our fair to go Korea for Christmas. That’s his Christmas present for my sisters and I, because he knows how much we love Korean songs, movies and actors by hearing us speak a little bit of Korea around the house.

In Korea there is South Korea and North Korea. They are enemies even though they're the same culture. Its kinda weird in Korea because when one person from South Korea goes to North Korea they make it as a big deal or kill them when they see them. When North Korea goes to South Korea they make them feel good and welcome them to South Korea. Knowing Korea is a fun place to be but when you stay there too long it becomes more dangerous.

The capital city in Korea is Seoul. It is the largest place in all of Korea and it’s in South Korea. Seoul is a nice cooling place and a good place to refresh your mind, also to follow your dreams. Once you go to Korea for a week or so you're going to wanna live there because they sale very nice and cheap stuff.

That is all I have about Korea. Go check out some Korean movies, songs and actors. Hope you had a enjoyable time reading my story and also want to learn more about Korea.

Paragraph 1:
“Wonder how Tech At Tamaki is going to be like this year without the year 8’s?” my close friend Hope said to me. Well having Tech this year without the year 8’s is really fun because most of the year 8’s boys last year were really naughty. When we go down to Tamaki College for Tech there are three activities that we can do but in different terms. They are Cooking Tech, Hard Materials, and Graphics. I was in Graphics first this year.

Paragraph 2:
The teacher the teach Graphics is Mr Pineda. He is really fun to be with and it’s also cool to be in his class to start off with Tech. Our very first activity in Graphics was Pop-Up Cards. It’s fun being in Graphics because at the end of the term you can take all of what you have created home and share them with your family.

Paragraph 3:
In Cooking Tech it’s really interesting and enjoyable to be in. The teacher in the class is Ms Heka, she is a really kind and kickback but sometimes can be mean and grumpy. She is one of my favourite Tech teachers. When we go into her Tech class we learn how to cook new and old recipes. I enjoy being in her Tech class because we can take what we cooked home and share it with our families and friends. We write down the recipes in our books to take home and try cook it ourselves at home, school and anywhere really.

Paragraph 4:
The last Tech class is Hard Materials and in that class is Mr Grundy. He is so scary people do what he say straight away. That’s how scary he is but the main thing he expects us to finish in time is our work. He tells us what to do step by step it is really fun because he waits for us until everyone is on the same step as him. We can take what we made with him home and share what we have learnt in his class this year. But he doesn’t allow us to take our work home if it’s not good or not yet finished.

Conclusion:
This is the end of my story about Tamaki Tech but I’m sure there are going to be a lot more stories about it.

Smart Footprints !

Cyber-smart :)

Being cybersmart is a really important thing to do. Cybersmart also means thinking about what you post or do online. Online you have to think carefully about others and think about how you wanted to be treated. It means you don’t send threatening or rude things to someone you don’t know. So don’t talk rude online because your name will show when it’s posted.

When you post or send somebody things that they don’t like, they can show it to an adult or someone older. If you think that you can delete what you send, people always see what you have posted. It also shows on your teacher or boss dashboard. A dashboard means what you have being on or what you have sent others.

Just remember on every site or dougie websites you go on it always shows your name. Everything you’ve been on leaves a footprint and also have a good think before you post something online. Everybody can see what your doing and come find you or growl you off.

Now you know what cybersmart means. So think positive about what you're going to post or what site you're going on. Don’t send anything rude or  threatening to someone you don’t know or else you're going to get caught from an adult or someone older than you.
