My week at school.

Last week on Tuesday most of the year 6 kids went on camp to Kawau Island. Well I didn’t go because I didn’t want to.

On Tuesday morning at school we had to stay in Room 16 with the rest of the year 6 and 5 kids. When we started our day with Mr Sommerville, he told us we have three things we had to finish before Friday. The work we had to finish was our animation with a song or your favourite thing, Xtramaths and 100 minutes of Math Whizz. If we all finish it by Friday we will have a movie with popcorn.   

In the weekend I went to my aunt's house because we had a church fundraising for the Camp at the end of this year. When Saturday morning came along we went to the sausage sizzle fundraising in front of the Paradise night club. When we got there the music was on and I saw some of my cousins dancing, so I got out of the car and joined them. When it was finished we had over $300, so there was some left overs so we ate them all.

Kawau Island.

Tomorrow morning most of the year 6’s are going to Kawau Island for their camp. Well not me sadly.

What I am looking forward to is fishing because I have never went fishing in my life. I hate the smell of the fish aswell.

A challenge for me is going in the water because it might be cold for three day when you are there. The other challenge for me is kayaking because I do not know how to sail.

What I am getting ready for is packing my lunch and bring my togs tomorrow.

Technology group challenge.

Today we made boats and it was very hard. When we try out our boats it have to float at least 5 seconds. My groups one good.

Triathlon.

Last week Wednesday room 17 went to the bottom field to do a triathlon. When we got there we thought is was easy but when we tried it, it was pretty hard.

When we started  we had to stop for a second because Miss Vaafusuaga said “ we are coming back again on Thursday morning”. We started the race first, we had to get a bike do 2 laps and then put our bike back and do 1 lap of running.

After we finished our practice round , we had a competition to see who would come first and who would try their best. When we finished Mark told us something you have to do when you come nexts time. Some of the words were iron man means the long race , tri means three sports and athlon means competition and event.

When we came back to class it was morning tea and our legs were pretty sore. Then we had to talk in teams about what was our favourite part of the Triathlon.

The Bush.

One hot Summer Holiday my family and I went on a picnic in the bush. When we got in the bush there were heaps of nice flower and we meted other people as well. When we found a place to eat we open the basket and heaps of yummy food inside like sandwich, water and cupcakes.

When we were done eating we saw no sign of my little sister called Emily. So we ran to our parents and said “ MUM,DAD EMILY IS NOT HERE”, we all went looking for her. We were very very worried, we look around the track and there was still no sign.

We went and asked the other families if they seen a little baby girl they said “YES the other family is looking for her parents”. We went and lucky we found her we were very happy that we got her back home. When we went home my dad said “ every single time we go somewhere you have to keep an eye out for baby ok”.

After we all listen to my dad interesting words we went to sleep and eat again. My little sister and I had to sleep together so she can’t wander around before she gets a smack from
me. We were very happy we got her back.

Point England Shop.

Mum needed some sugar for her tea, but we had run out.  My big sister and I had to walk to shop to buy some sugar. When we got to the shop, the shop was closed because it was Christmas Day, we were very worried because my mum will get very angry.

When we knew that the shops were close. We Wondering around looking for a shop that’s open. I finally saw a open shop and we ran inside and brought the sugar. We got home around 6 o’clock . We got home my mum sitting on the chair with a worried face.

When we saw my mum on the chair with a worried face, we open the door and screen  “ MUM MUM WE GOT SOME SUGAR”.,She got up and said  “finally you got the sugar I was dying to drink tea”.

After that I was pretending to go to sleep but my mum  said “ Faaao can you come do my tea please. I was doing her tea and after doing my job I went to have a sleep from that long walk that we had today.

A Variety of Sentence beginnings about The White-tailed Spiders.

Having 2 palps at the front of its head, the White-Tailed Spider uses them for grooming itself. White-Tailed Spiders can bite if they are trapped in clothing, or squashed by a shoe. “ARGH!” I would scream if I saw this hairy monster.

Olympics Day.

On Thursday it was a different day because the whole day on Thursday we played heaps of sports. On each sports there are always a teacher at each sports.

The Olympics teams were Argentina, Ireland, France, Kenya, Jamaica, Sweden, Portugal, Brazil, Spain and I don’t remember the rest. The sports we did was sitting down volleyball, three legged soccer, touch, ultimate Frisbee, handball, basketball and foursquare.

When we started the games we went to sitting down volleyball first and it was very good because won by 2 point.When we went to the other sport we did  handball with Mr Somerville and it was really boring. The sports were finished and we got back together we did a prayer before we went to morning tea and after morning tea we get back to what we are doing next.

Thats how our day was on Thursday, when I go home I went to sleep.

Favourite Meal.

My favourite meal is Mince and Vegetables on rices. I like it because I really like vegetables.

Kidnapped

One hot summer day, me and my family went down to Point England beach to have a swim. While we were waiting for my mum and dad to tell us “ you can swim now”, we were waiting at the park. When we were playing at the park my mum and dad didn’t know.


When we were playing at the park, mum and dad were not watching us.  While they were talking someone strange came to the park and picked up my little brother. He took him to the car and drove away. As we heard my brother Yell “ HELP HELP “we ran to our mum and dad at the same time.

While that strange man took my brother we all Cried and ran after them. When we got to our parents they called the police and the police came. As the policeman came he went after the car that my brother was in.

At the end the police caughted the car and found my brother in it and took the man to jail. When we got home we told my brother off and had a Happy Night together.

Mrs Verry.

Mrs Verry is a very nice, helpful, kind, and awsome teacher. Mrs Verry is leaving today so we are writing her a farewell card, 'also want to say THANK YOU for teaching us more and more things. We are going to miss you alot Mrs Verry and hope God bless you where ever you are and where you go. Mrs Verry to miss out some laugh without you. But the most thing we want to say is hope you come back and see us again.

Making Boxes.

In Room 17 we have been learning to make boxes by using paper. I am going to put up some steps for you to make your own.

1. Get a A4 paper.















2. You have to fold top to bottom and fold side to the other side. Fold the edges.












3. Then you open it and there you go.




















4. When you got your box you grab a scissor and a colour paper.

 5. Now you got your box you can decorate it now.

Duffy Assembly.

Can you guess who was at Point England School assembly? Well it was Jo Holley, she is a very famous actor. Can you guess what movies she acts on if you don’t know here is the movies it was Sione’s Wedding part 2 and Studio 2 and Squirt.

The other people who was at Point England School was Ron and Osten. while we were waiting for Jo Holley we sang five songs and they were Eric the Dinosaur, Lean on me, Drums of the Island, Skinky Marinky Dinky and Tinkel little star. When we were singing the songs Ron and Osten face was like we were flat.

When Jo Holley arrived she then told us her life storys and where she come from. Jo Holley said that she was born in Gisborne and she told us when she 11 she started to act and her first movie was Squirt.

When she finished talking we started to give out the duffy book and the how our assembly was.

My aunty's wedding.

Guess what I did in the weekends? On Saturday I went to my aunt's wedding.  The wedding started at 9:30am,  and it finished at 6:00pm. It was very funny at the wedding because my family only went when it was  eating time. When we got there people just ate, while we were waiting to get some food we took some photo of the my aunty that’s getting married.

While we were eating we were watching some of my cousin dancing for the people that were getting married. After the feed we went to the library because the last bit was can of boring, because it was for the older people mostly. It was the people that are old getting  a Tongan mat and a bottle of cola and $5 as the lid.

After the wedding we went home and had some time to sleep, before we slept  we had to clean the house and wash the dishes. When we were getting ready to sleep we talked about what was our favourite part of the wedding I said my favourite part was the dessert and my sisters said you are all about food and I laugh.

As I was at the wedding I was thinking about the time I was a flower girl for my cousin’s wedding in Samoa in 2009.

Tommy Kapai Wilson.

What I learnt from Tommy Kapai today is that when you make 10 people smile you get a better life or you change a year later.  Tommy Kapai told us that in his family they have 11 kids that must be a big family. He read us a story that is real and after reading a book to us he show a picture of his dad on the book because his dad died on the same day as Princess Diana.

When Tommy Kapai walk in the hall I feel shot because that is my first time seeing a book writer.  I feel happy because he came with  some friends that are famous too... IS THAT AMAZING.

Tommy Kapai first told us that war is dumb and everyone agree with him but I think some disagree.  The next thing he told us is that you can change your life if you make 10 people smile. The most important thing is that you will always have a gift.

Daily Run.

Skinks.

Skinks

Skinks are lizards. There are other kind of reptile and they are called Tautara and Gecko. Skinks are native to New Zealand. All the lizards in New Zealand are protected by the law.

Appearance

The skinks in New Zealand has dry scales. They can camouflage to  hide from their predators. Skinks eyesight and hearing are excellent.

Eating Habits

Skinks are mainly carnivores, they eat berries, spiders, and any other insects. They eat anything like berries and meats.

Predators

The skinks predators are mustelids, mice, and rats. The skinks can  escape from their predators by letting the them take their tail  and grow another one or they can camouflage or run fast as they can to their homes.

Conclusion

Skink are very important to New Zealand and all the law are trying to protect them from the predators. Skink are native to New Zealand and that why they protect them. When you find a skink you will have to leave it where you found it.

Stress Busters.

Spaghetti with toasts.

You need 2  bags of breads  
4 cans of spaghetti
some tea bags
1 bag of sugar
some boiled water


1. Put the 4 bread in the toaster each time
2. Pour the spaghetti in the bowl
3. Put the spaghetti in the microwave and warm it up for 1 minute
4.Butter the toast and pour some spaghetti on the toast and put it on the plate
5. Make a tea, get 1 tea bag put it in the cup and boil the water. Pour the water in the cup and put some water in the cup and there you go and your breakfast is ready
